Here are a few frequently asked questions that prospective clients have regarding your interior construction services:

Remodeling vs. Renovations: What’s the Difference?
  • Remodeling: A remodel typically involves changing the layout, structure, or purpose of a room or space. It’s ideal for homeowners who want to reimagine their home by creating new designs or functions, such as turning a basement into a suite or expanding a kitchen.

  • Renovations: Renovations focus on restoring or updating existing spaces without altering their basic structure. This can include replacing old flooring, upgrading cabinets, or refreshing paint to breathe new life into your home while maintaining its original layout.
  • Materials for Canadian Climate: Alberta’s harsh winters and temperature fluctuations require the use of durable, weather-resistant materials. We choose materials like hardy siding, moisture-resistant drywall,  high-performance windows that withstand freezing temperatures and heavy snow.

  • Insulation: Proper insulation is key to keeping your home energy-efficient and comfortable year-round. We ensure your home meets or exceeds local insulation standards with top-grade materials like exterior insulating and finish systems (EIFS), spray foam and fiberglass, designed to combat heat loss and reduce energy costs during Alberta’s cold winters.[1]

  • Electrical & Plumbing: Our team ensures that all electrical and plumbing systems are up to code and capable of handling the demands of modern living. We work with experienced electricians and plumbers to guarantee that your home is both safe and functional, whether you’re upgrading fixtures, adding new outlets, or installing water-efficient plumbing systems.

[1] Through Canada’s Greener Home Initiative, you can apply to receive a grants up to $5,000 to improve the energy efficiency of your home and up to $600 towards the cost of the pre and post home improvement evaluation. Additionally project costs for windows and doors, insulation and air sealing are eligible for low-interest loans payable in 10 years.
  • Consultation and Planning: A detailed consultation with the homeowner to identify must-haves and budget, followed by creating a project timeline.

  • On-Site Assessment: A walk-through to identify any underlying issues or areas of concern.

  • Design and Approval: Developing the design plan with materials selection and homeowner approval before work begins.

  • Project Execution: Following a structured process, from demolition to the final clean-up, with close attention to details and regular updates to the homeowner.
